x ROMM INTERVIEW x

As I am typing this, my eyes is actually half shut.
I miss blogging. I miss the fact that I can rant and update this blog of mine.
I have so much to say but so little time to do this.
I am going to endure this sleepiness and really update it tonight.

I am pretty much settled with my wedding preps.
On 12th September, we went to ROMM for the Interview. I have to thanks Dellaire for her ROMM Interview entry. I was actually reading her entry an hour before we went over to ROMM. Thanks to her detail entry that I manage to beat the queue.

We reached there at about 8.29am. There was already about 10 couples I must say, standing at the entrance. The Chinese couples were already queueing up outside the entrance. No, I am not the first Muslim couple. I saw 2 other couple with the family. So when the door open at 8.30am, I zoom in without looking back straight to the reception counter and told the Pakcik that I am here for the ROMM Interview. The Pakcik then proceed to give me a queue number. Only once I get the queue, I turned back and saw that the other 2 couples were queueing at the Ticket Machine and was informed by someone that they need to head to the reception counter. And because of this a BIG SHOUTOUT To Dellaire for that precise entry on what to do and where to go. That was how I beat the queue. Well, I am not cutting the queue right...I reached before 8.30am, it's just that I am aware of what to do.
That is why research is VERY VERY IMPORTANT! LOL!!

It was a fast one indeed. We sat down a few minutes and our number was called. (Tempat duduk pun belum panas seh). My father went in first. Less than 3 minutes he was out of the room already. That was so uncalled for. I did not expect it to be that fast. My dad told me that I was asked to go in alone. Was kind of nervous but I remain calm. I knock the door and gave my Salam.

After I sat down, he verify my name & IC. He then asked, Where is my solemnisation held? Do  I stay with my dad? What is the hantaran and mahar?.Then I was asked to angkat sumpah to confirm that all I said was nothing but the truth and thats it. He ask to call the fiance in. Another unexpected. That was super fast. No weird questions at all. Nothing like...Rukun Islam berapa perkara? Rukun Iman berapa perkara? Tuh zaman dulu maybelah. Thinking that fiance actually prepared for all this made me laugh hard. He He.

While waiting for the fiance, I asked my dad what he asked. He say nothing much, just normal questions like how I was being asked. Same goes to fiance when I asked him later.

I am glad everything went smoothly. Alhamdulillah.
So, I guess we are ready to get married, yes?

Updates Updates Updates!

Good Morning Bloggers~! Time flies so fast and we are already on the 10th day of Ramadhan.
Alhamdullilah, it has been a smooth journey for me. Even the weather is a blesssings. I remembered just a week before Ramadhan, the weather was hot, humid & dry till my skin starts to react with the weather. I had to go to the doctor to get some medicated cream to ease my agitated skin. But amazingly, in the month of Ramadhan, the weather is such a blessings. Cool weather and infact almost everyday it's raining.
 Syukur Alhamdulilah!

Like always, I have not been updating this blog. Ha ha! There's few things which I will update today.

1st - Our 2nd Appointment with HDB.

Yup, we have been called for our 2nd appointment with HDB on 29th June. It was the first day of Ramadhan and it is on Sunday. We were glad that it falls on a weekend so we don't have to waste our leave. ( We need to save a lot of leave for the end of the year u know~:P) The appointment was such a breeze. The appointment was at 2.15pm but we came at 1.45 and immediately was called in. Apparently, the person who was having appointment at 130 have not showed up yet. So we were indeed lucky! Settled this and we shall now just wait for 2017 to come. It is expected to be ready by Q1 2017, but as per norm they will advise that it will normally be read 1 year ahead. I hope they do a good job to the BTO Flat. So much news of defects already. Now is the time to work extra hard to earn the CPF $$. Mahal betul flat nih. By the time the flat is ready..our $$ in the CPF pun kena wiped out t 0! Hur hur!

2nd - Dulang Hantaran

Managed to get some more stuffs of mine and him. So this month, the target is to send our baju to the tailor.
Need to find a date and shall inform my SIL to take me to her tailor house. We also got a draft design of our customised wedding band from Gems by Gems. Such a beautiful piece, can't wait to see the real thing.

3rd -Office Matters

Eversince taking up the new account and concurrently servicing a big project for the company. My work have been neverending. I normally practice completing my work task by end of the day but now 8hours of work is still insufficient to complete it. I even had to bring it home to work on it. I know this is not healthy. I miss my work life balance. Im hoping this phase will end soon & I shall be back on track

4th - Weight Matters

Honestly speaking, I have not been exercising religiously. I did a little but not to the maximum.
What else in the fasting month? Badan mcm letih je hahaha!
Need to push myself after fasting...but oh the temptation of lauk pauk raya...aiyahh!! :(

Ok lah..that's all I can say.
Need to start working already..
Toodles!

Short Update

I am so busy like mad that honestly I really have no time to blog .
Sometimes I do worry as the wedding bells are nearing.

There's few big projects at work that I find myself doing more work rather than planning for the wedding.
I shall talk about all this projects in the next entry ( if terlarat).

Meanwhile, just a short update on what I have settled:

1) Booking of Void Deck - Done
2) Customise Wedding Bands - Done
3) Ordered a bag overseas for 1 of the dulang - Done

That's the only few things that I manage to deal with.
I wish I have more than 24 hours a day
:(

Of the Arab Street

I have been wanting to blog about the Trip down to Arab Street but I just couldn't find the time. Although I am like dead tired right now due to the gym workout, I guess I need to write it down else I will forget about it.

Sometime last week, on the 3rd March to be precise, me and my fiancé head down to Arab Street. The purpose is to look for kain. It is part of the dulang hantaran. So before we go for our hunting, we decide to drop by Fika Restaurant to have our lunch. Well, it was our first time. We heard of the restaurant before but didn't really went down to explore it. I am not the adventurous kind of person when it comes to food, so the sound of Turkish Restaurant really doesn't attracts me. Maklumlah tekak orang Melayu. LOL!
I decided to be safe and ordered something which I know I will not have trouble eating which is the "Grilled Chicken" LOL! This is not safe..this is extremely safe. Ha Ha.

The Fiancé took some beef dishes -so his is a pure Turkish Dish I assume, since he is more adventurous than me. Then I ordered some side dish, honestly I can't remember what it is, but when I know it includes raw fish, my appetite on the dish really dies off. Anyway, I find the food just fine. Not really use to eat Turkish food I suppose, that's why I feel it was just ok.

Right after the lunch, we went for our hunting. The plan was to walk and survey the kain first. However, I ended up stopping at the 2nd shop. Because the service the lady gave us was superb, so we ended up asking for more details and eventually buy it.  The Fiancé was not use to buy fabric for tailoring. So he ended up very blur and of coz the question come out can be funny though. Kakak tuh terkekek2 dengar soalan dier. The shopping experience we thought that gonna take us few hours ended very2 soon coz we bought everything at the 2nd shop. So I guess the pending part is to send the kain to tailors.

Do you guys have any recommendation of a good tailor?

Meeting up with FDCS

Finally, yesterday I went to meet FDCS to finalize on the wedding. Was kind of upset with the arrangement earlier actually but I shall just brush it off since it is really teeny weeny issue which I don't find it useful if i make it big. Just that I felt that it would be appropriate if she could have at least inform me that she have moved house since she say it has only been a week. I was just lucky that tergerak hati nih to confirm again her address.
So everything went well. I have almost confirm all my colors - Decor, Gubahan & Bridal Room. Since FDCS have ever done events at the block that I wanted to book so she wont be coming to take a look at the block again as she is very familiar with the place. She also gave feedback if my choice of Pelamin will fit the block and if my choice of seat match the Pelamin. She also recommended me where to put the photo booth because I for once do not know where to station it. I gave her a thumbs up for all this recommendations. My mum also settled on the selections of the foods and desserts. All is good.
I also got to know that the DJ under her is Fa-Naz Sound Production. I did not opt for Karaoke Session. Had an experience and I do not want sumbangseh sound destroying my wedding video. LOL! I am not sure how entertaining they will be without Karaoke. I can only hope & pray they will be entertaining but not up to tahap nonsense. I am still thinking if I should provide them a list of song or should I just leave it to them to play any songs. Hmmm..

Unsucessful for the 2nd Time

I blog about applying for BTO in SEP and was not successful in getting a good queue number. However Last month, we receive an invitation letter from HDB to select a flat, but the appointment will onlt be on 21st March 14 and selection of flat started in December. And this only means, I guess by the time our turn come, only left with the belen2 flat. Haiz.

My choice was the Waterway View & the thing about the structured of the flats here, they make it some with balcony in living room, some with balcony in master bedroom and some NONE at all. Aiyah..why lah why..cant they make every unit with a balcony. Not fair seh..some have and some don't have. I reckon by the time my turn is up, the only one left are those without balcony. I tell you, even in this month, when I checked, almost 70% of the units with balcony have been taken up. Sighz..

So, we decided to apply for another BTO in Hougang and guess what, we get the same chance of queue again. Nombor jauh giler..haiz..takder nasib lah nampaknye. In Mar 14, there will be another BTO Launch, but from my understanding, we can only apply 2 at one time kan.

Haiz, mungkin belum ada rezeki lagik. I shall just accept this as a blessing. Kita merancang, Tuhan menentukan. I am sure Allah know what is best for my future. =|

The Trip to JB + Wedding Affair

Like Finally...I can upload pics to blogger!!

I am going to continue from what I have left. ( I hope I still remember all of it)

Me & the Fiance went up to JB on 8th November. What we had in mind was to actually survey on the wedding cards. It was my first trip to JB via Public Transport. (So the jakun lor). By the time we reach Larkin, it was already 11am, so we went for our lunch first at the nearby hawker centre called "Selera Johor". I had the Mee Hailam whereas he had Kacang Pool. I didn't get to snap a pic of the Kacang Pool, but for sure, it tasted better than mine. Mine was just salty! :(

Mee Hailam

After lunch, we went to start surveying at Larkin. I saw some other shops that sell like those gubahan thingy. But since I have already engage FDCS to do my gubahan as well, so I just don't bother to even look at those. Hehe. At Larkin, my direction was only towards Joo Bee. I knew of the shop Joo Bee because both my elder brother actually made the cards there. The Aunty pun friendly :) I manage to snap some of the wedding cards. There are many2 more designs I tell you. You will be spoilt for choice!! Below are just some of the random one which I snap

This is the cheapest range at RM 0.50

RM 0.80

RM 1.20

This is the shop at Level 2.
(Photo Credits to Farhana - Kahwin Khronicles)

We headed then to Angsana to take a look at the shops there. I'm looking for a cake container actually. There is also this one shop which I ever went before. So the moment we reach there, we count ourself lucky because they were having a wedding exhibition there too!!!

After walking through the exhibition for a while and looking at all the beautiful pelamin, so we moved on to the initial intention, the cake container. Hmm..none of the shops actually have what I wanted.

The Berkat Shop ( 2nd or 3rd Floor)

I just thought this Aladdin thingy is kind of nice. Hehe.
You can fill it with sweets or telur as what the salesgirl said. ( Telur Burong kot :P)

Since nothing actually caught my eye, we went back to stroll through the exhibition on the other side which we did not cover just now. There was a lot of vendors kad kawin actually!

This Button Badges are awesome!! I thought of having it for the family if I have the extras $$$
They have a shop at Plaza Larkin. The more easier it is!

We were too tired of walking already so wanted to find some snacks only to know that there is a Subway in Angsana so apa lagik bedal lah!!!

And After that we went to City Square, walk a bit and eat Kenny Rogers plak..hahahha!! PBG betul...Tahan gelojoh nih..!!

Prak Bing Bing~

Sometime back, I got to know from fiancé that the package his mum took consist of the kompang services as well. I was quite annoyed and disappointed lah~ because I was already aiming for a group which I love. Ok, although I am not paying for it, but then the kompang will be doing the performance mostly at my side right, so I guess I have the right to somehow decide too..he he:P

So given the benefit of the doubt, I told him to go and ask Nizera first what is the kompang group name and whether they have any video of their performance. But haiz..as per the norm, he keep procrastinating saying that he will call but ended up not calling. I kind of get more annoyed and upset lah coz that time when he called the group of my choice, it is still available, so I am kinda of worried if the kompang in the package is not good or not to our liking and at the same time the group that we want do not have the slot for us anymore.

So just now I was sitting under a void deck with him waiting for the rain to stop, he told me that our kompang group will be THE ONE THAT WE CHOOSE!!! Wooohooo...I am like super excited lah seh. Finally we get what we want!! I asked him if he have booked and he joyfully said YES! =) He told me that he call the Nizera Wedding and they told him the group name is Sri Lanang. So he went to youtube to search for any video performance.

He was glad he did, BECAUSE this kompang group use Kuda Kepang & Barungan during the kompang. Ok that is a totally NO NO for us!! Never Ever! No offence to those who love this kind of performance but we never like this kind of thing. After he told his mum, his mum pun tak suker ada barungan sooo...it means that Sri Lanang will be cancelled and I will have my ANDIKA PRAK BING BING!!!!! Yeah..so happy mode nak joget-joget ok..LOL!

Here's a pic of the wedding invite which I attend just now. Congrats to Imran & Aisyah =)

Picture Photobooth - Snap Snap! *winks*

So...did the title of this blog entry says it all?? Haha

Finally I decided to engage SnapAPictures (SAP) Photo booth & I have even make my first deposit! Yeah!!! Luckily they are still available on my wedding date. Well, after much consideration, I just felt that it's more worthwhile to engage them. Reason being, even if I get my girlfriend to do the GB, somehow I need to tolak her duit penat also right? And after much thinking, I couldn't find the perfect person from my list of cousin to handle the photo booth area. Most of them are married & they have their own kiddos to attend to. They can't be sitting at the photo booth area all the time. My SIL have a friend who can do this, but he requested a market rate for his services, so might as well I just engaged the photo booth services.

After much Q&A with SnapAPicture, I am quite satisfied that they provide unlimited shots for the GB & they are also flexible if any of the guest want to camwhore with their props and backdrops using their own camera. Thanks to Nadz who help out to ask SAP on thier unlimited services & how they will try to squeeze in all the pictures of the guest. Thanks much dear!!

However, I am quite uncomfortable with the $1 poster if guest want to have a copy. Will guest really badmouth & say what kind of pengantin is this to make guest pay for the pictures?? Can I tell them not to put on their desk at all? Can I just tell them to just say a straight no if they want a copy and advised them to take using their phone or camera instead? Hmm...after all the GB is for the pengantin what, not for the guest. So if they want a copy..they pay lah..Haiz..I'm still thinking about this.

So...since I have already engaged SAP, now I need to think what colour should my GB be & what kind of theme I really want? I really never though of this & have absolutely no idea. Need to do some survey lah...

Oklah thats all for now.

Toodles.

Click Click

I am still thinking about how to go about my photo booth.

I don't know if should I engaged a Photo booth company.

Overall, most of them offers the same thing such as guestbook, about 50-80 snaps of photo for the guestbook, photography with DSLR, Printer Rental, Pens & Props, Backdrop. If guest wants a copy, they need to pay $1 & if I want the soft copy, need to pay about $10 for CD. Extra hours will be about $50/hr.

I also thought of doing a DIY booth. My friend offered to do for me the guestbook. She even have the props. For the printer rental, My SIL have it if I'm not wrong. My Dad have the DSLR Camera. All I need to find is the backdrop, coloured pens, the photo paper & 2 person to handle the camera and also invite the guest to take a photo and write in the guestbook.

Hmm..Which should I choose eh? My take is that with a photo booth company, the pics they gave is very-very limited. & considering that I really have big families, I guess the 80 pcs will never be enough. To add on to it, for me to have a soft copy of it, I will need to pay extra. If I were to DIY, I need to at least push some money to my friend who did the guestbook & to the 2 person who handle the camera & printer. I need to make sure that all of this does not cost more than what I had to pay if I were to engage a photo booth.

Maybe I will go for the DIY. But i need to find out how much all will cost me.I hope its much more lower.

What do you think? What do you prefer?
